A good book about biomechanic applications + esthetics for ortho residents. e.g application of intrusion arch and preventing it's side effects, fixed functional appliances, space closing mechanics, facemask therapy, skeletal anchorage are some chapters existing in this book

It's a great book. I recommend it to Orthoresidents. Although parts of the information is repeated in other major texts, it still has many things to offer. I also enjoyed reading the chapters on esthetics. Every orthodontist should own this book

This book is absolutely pertinent for today's Naturopathic Physician who is blending traditional Nature Cure with clinical medicine. I found it to be very helpful when developing clinical plans for patients in our student clinic. It is clear and thorough, and give a vast amount of peer reviewed research regarding each subject chapter.

This is More suitable for Traditional Naturopathic Dr. than Naturopathic Physicians

This is a good book easy to read, helpful for variety of disease. I haven't quite finished it but I was anxious to find the latest information on Iridology and Traditional Chinese Medicine, unfortunately they removed it, for other material. When mentioning how great the patients did with x herb they usually categorized them under their scientific name instead of the historical name they are known for...which is time consuming when you desire to find the Cause of the problem, instead of 'naming things'. I would put this on my shelf next to "the clinicians handbook of natural medicine 2nd edition" since it has similar flow but by a different N.D. Author.( if it was in Hardcover, I would pay the extra bucks, since this similar to a reference book, and listen reader a new book will be coming out that will be referencing this one... If your interested in knowing start investigating hehe

About the Author

Robert S. Feldman is Professor of Psychology and Dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. A recipient of the College Distinguished Teacher Award, he teaches psychology classes ranging in size from 15 to nearly 500 students. During the course of more than two decades as a college instructor, he has taught both undergraduate and graduate courses at Mount Holyoke College, Wesleyan University, Virginia Commonwealth University, in addition to the University of Massachusetts.

Feldman, who initiated the Minority Mentoring Program at the University of Massachusetts, also has served as a Hewlett Teaching Fellow and Senior Online Teaching Fellow. He initiated distance learning courses in psychology at the University of Massachusetts.

 

Feldman also is actively involved in promoting the field of psychology. He is on the Board of Directors of the Federation of Associations in Behavioral and Brain Sciences (FABBS) and he also is on the Board of the FABBS Foundation

 

A Fellow of both the American Psychological Association and the Association for Psychological Science, Professor Feldman received a B.A. with High Honors from Wesleyan University and an M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

 

Feldman is a winner of a Fulbright Senior Research Scholar and Lecturer award, and he has written more than 150 books, book chapters, and scientific articles. He has edited Development of Nonverbal Behavior in Children (Springer-Verlag), Applications of Nonverbal Behavioral Theory and Research (Erlbaum), and co-edited Fundamentals of Nonverbal Behavior (Cambridge University Press). He is also author of Child Development, Understanding Psychology, and P.O.W.E.R. Learning: Strategies for Success in College and Life. His books have been translated into a number of languages, including Spanish, French, Portuguese, Dutch, Chinese, and Japanese.

 

His research interests include honesty and deception in everyday life and the use of nonverbal behavior in impression management, and his research has been supported by grants from the National Institute of Mental Health and the National Institute on Disabilities and Rehabilitation Research.

 

Feldman loves music, is an enthusiastic, if not-exactly-expert, pianist, and he enjoys cooking and traveling. He has three children, and he and his wife, a psychologist, live in western Massachusetts, in a home overlooking the Holyoke mountain range.

WARNING do not buy this book new. Eventhough you buy the book new, you will not reveive the access code for MyDevelopmentLab. You must purchase this seperatly for an additional $30.00. Purchase the book used and spend the money you save on the access code. Total ripoff...........

Product descriptions arent always what they seem

The book itself was exactly what I needed for my class and very informative. The inside had ripped pages and that was not included in the product description. The cover was bent and that was also not included. Unfortunately I did not have time to return the book as the class was starting and I needed it, so I was caught between a rock and a hard place.
