i cant understand who in their right mind would pay 3.00 for a chapter of a book! i love this series, but i can not pay that much for 37 pages without feeling like an idiot. there are a lot of good books - that are complete story lines- that i can purchase for the same price or a little more. so sad that kelly has decided to gauge her customers

I am hearing the amazon changed the way it pays the authors for their work. Well regardless, I can't let myself pay $3 for a one chapter book when there are probably 15 more chapter or so to go. I just stopped myself from reading anymore of this series. I will just have to wonder what happened. I was hooked but i just kicked the habit. I am considering cancelling my unlimited acct if this continues with other authors.

Amazingly, given the enduring popularity of its subject, this is the first book solely about the Miura to appear in almost 30 years – the last being Coltrin and Marchet's 1982 effort, reprinted in '99. Joe Sackey has given a large part of his life to promoting the Miura cause and if at times his prose seems a little breathless, that's simply a reflection of his sheer enthusiasm. He's done a fine job. While he's a Miura evangelist, he's also quick to point out the flaws in its history – not least the flexible approach to chassis records. Besides a large number of archive photos, there are superb studio shoots of several. individual Miuras, including the one-off ZN75 show car – which no longer exists, having recently been re-restored to its original, also unique, Spider configuration. The picture editing could have been more ruthless in places – similar pics appear on successive pages – but there's an awful lot of valuable material in this book, which, at least for the foreseeable future, really is the Miura owner's 'Bible.'

'Bible' is a bold claim for any motoring title, and Lamborghini collector Sackey certainly crams this 268-page book with information and illustrations. Chapters cover the Miura's gestation, model development, the Spiders and super-rare Jotas, chassis numbers, maintenance, restoration and driving appeal. There's a spotlight on engineer Paolo Stanzani – which, surprisingly, offers more insight into the Countach than the Miura – but key figures such as stylist Marcello Gandini and New Zealand-born development engineer Bob Wallace get only token coverage in the text. There are plenty of color images of restored cars, including stylish studio work and action shots, but much of the content is thinly spread. Despite that however, Joe Sackey's book, the 'Lamborghini Miura Bible,' is the only book on the famous Italian supercar to be published in the last 26 years. Including acres of period factory images, interviews and a complete factory chassis register, this is the ultimate book for any Miura fan.

About the Author
Joe has been a Lamborghini and Ferrari owner and enthusiast for over 20 years, and regularly writes at club and magazine levels. He organized the first-ever Miura Reunion in California in 2000, and also facilitated the sale of the first million dollar Lamborghini, the Miura Roadster, in 2006. As an archivist and historian, he has become closely involved with the International Lamborghini Registry, and often lends his considerable experience to others looking to locate and restore that special car. Joe lives in California with his wife Margaret, their three children, and a few old classics.

The Lamborghini Miura Bible is a Great source,I Love this Book! Great Photography and Archive Photos as well in-depth history.Well-Written,My only compliant would be That even though the Jota is covered(The Original) there is no color photos only the Archive photos and no Jota Replicas or Replicas covered period.The book is very Much Miura SV,I would have like to have seen More Jota Coverage and the Jota SVR Replicas as well as Replicas in General. I understand the Author Prefers the Miura's "Pure" lines as opposed to the Jota.I also would have like to have seen More Photographs and bigger spreads,yes I am aware it has plenty of both but I have no qualms with this great book. I tried to email the author regarding getting the book signed but he never got back to me I know he is busy(in The Restoration Business and Collector).I hope he comes out with another Miura Book since there is mention of perhaps a Future Miura book according to Mr.Sackey in the book if more Information comes to Light.The Publisher Veloce did a Splendid job as they do with most of their books and the book covers Chassis,Colors,Options,some notable Owners Like Miles Davis/Sinatra Etcera,The Author is also willing the admit the car's faults besides it's beauty,How to Maintain and How to find one and which Model to find(SV of Course!).Overall, I highly Recommend it as this was When Lamborghini Had Beautiful Cars and not the Volkswagen Owned Cars of today.(with some exceptions) and when Styling was better than today's cars and I am 31 I can appreciate Cars of then compared to now.

An excellent, original work and a "must have" for Miura fans

Although the title is somewhat presumptuous, this is actually an excellent book. There are a couple of things that make this book unique among Lamborghini books. First, Sackey is not only a huge Miura enthusiast and evangelist, but has also owned and restored several Miura SVs, so his writing is based not just on great research (which he's obviously done) but experience in ownership and restorations. Second, he has taken a lot of effort to find period photos that haven't been published before. Most Lamborghini books recycle many of the period photos, but this book only reuses a few. It includes a serial number listing, which is more accurate than the one in the Coltrin book, but Sackey doesn't list which cars were reissued, nor which numbers were P400s, S's, and SVs, or total production counts (although it does list counts for the SV). Perhaps this is a very difficult goal given poor factory records and cars being changed over the years. I'd like to see more descriptions of P400 and S cars. Joe has owned SVs and the book seems biased toward that variant. Overall, a great book and a "must have" for Miura fans.

Like the Miura, this book is beautiful. Fittingly, it is a large, serious, heavy book with high gloss pages to fully capture the beauty of the subject, but also has detailed technical discussions of all the models, including rare factory test beds like the mythical JOTA. It isn't a puff piece, however. Joe takes an honest look at the Miura (certainly not a perfect car) from the standpoint of a lifelong enthusiast who has to deal with the practical realities of ownership. I highly look forward to Joe's upcoming Ferrari 288 GTO bible!! And any other book he writes, for that matter.

Wonderful to have both books in one volume

I have used both volume 1 and volume 2 for years, both or myself and for my students. I am delighted to find both Volumes in one book.

The CD accompaniment is useful for those who on't read music flawlessly, or who don't play the piano. Just remember that as the singer, you are not in charge of the tempi or phrasing that you would be in a live performance.

I bought this in all of the different keys available, for use with my students who sing in different ranges, and most songs work in all of the keys supplied.

Old American Songs Complete Low Voice (Bk/CD) with Piano Accompaniments

I am a university profesor in Zagreb, Croatia where I have mixed voices in my two large classes of Voice and Opera training.
This is a standard rep for both basse and baritons and also for mezzo with no top.

Love the score. Perfect for my voice range.

Although the copy I bought was advertised "new," it was not. A name was written in the front, markings were on the score, and the CD had been torn out and taped by in.

Popular talk-radio host Michael Reagan offers a political manifesto meant to update his father's philosophy for the 1990s. Much of it will make sense to conservatives who still wish Ronald Reagan occupied the White House. They will also appreciate the quotes and personal vignettes sprinkled throughout the text. The book lays out a detailed agenda, some of it bland ("Get involved with your local school"), but at times quite pointed (dismantle no-fault divorce laws, arm the Bosnian Muslims, etc.). Overall, it demonstrates that turning ideas into a reality requires the skills of a master politician, such as the one who sat in the Oval Office for most of the 1980s.

Ronald Reagan's adoptive son offers a digressive tract that combines--not always effectively or gracefully--a celebration of his father's presidency, a neoconservative agenda for national renewal, score-settling asides on those he feels have done him wrong, and ad hominem attacks on Bill Clinton that might give the American Spectator pause. Drawing on his father's conceit (borrowed from Pilgrim John Winthrop) of an America that shows the rest of the world just how to create a paradise on earth, the San Diegobased radio talk-show host provides a cluttered blueprint for restoring the putatively lost glories of yesteryear when Reagan pŠre was cutting taxes, rearming the US military, jump-starting the domestic economy, and otherwise giving the country greater confidence in itself. His four-point program envisions realigning the roles played by mainstays of American society. By way of example, he would cut the federal budget and shrink government while reasserting national sovereignty. In like vein, the author urges that job-creating business be relieved of regulatory and tax burdens. He commends supporting civic and religious institutions that can take up the slack left by welfare reform and castigates government agencies at all levels for their paternalistic intrusions into the American family. At least as interested in tearing down as in building up, Reagan the Younger assails Clinton early and often, characterizing him as a slick (rather than great) communicator and the make-love- not-war president. Nor does the aggrieved author neglect to get even for slights he has suffered at the hands of Republican Party officials, Nancy Reagan (who on occasion has treated him, well, like a stepchild), and others. An Easy read with percsriptions to cure the Liberal Disease!

The book is a well written and down to earth look at a man and his ideas; ideas that have changed the way we all look at the presidency, our economy and our institutions, both public and private. I can not help but think that we are headed, with the current administration, into the quagmire that we all worked so hard to get out of after the Carter presidency. There is something to be said for strong morals and a conservative vision for our country, especially when it comes to government intervention in the economy and into our lives. The author does an excellent job of portaying the vision of his father and how he changed how we think about ourselves and our great country. The premise here is that we live in a great and free society but we have to work at keeping it free. We also have to help other countries and their peoples become free so that peace will be longlasting. The end of the book is startling. The summation of where the county is vis a vis foreign policy, or lack there of, is truly alarming. If 10% of what the author says is true then I would have to believe we are entering into a period of renewed political instalbility around the world. As the author surmises, more than once I might add, what is wrong with American strength and leadership in the world of today and tomorrow. I cannot refute that. Can you?

Ronald Reagan�s Vision for America Lives On

Michael Reagan has done a wonderful service to his father in writing this book. Besides the very moving admiration he has for his father, Michael Reagan eloquently elaborates on Ronald Reagan's vision for America as a Shining City on a Hill and a Beacon of Hope to the World.
The City is divided into four "quadrants" - enumerated according to their importance, from highest to lowest.
The first quadrant is the Family Neighborhood, where values and culture are nurtured; where a core education is taught (the 3Rs); and where the streets are safe to roam and play.
The second quadrant is the Corner of Faith and Charity, where morals are rooted in a faith in God and a belief in the worth and dignity of every human being; where meaningful charity is conducted; and where compassion is motivated by a genuine and profound concern for one another.
The third quadrant is Main Street, where families are permitted to keep and enjoy the fruits of their labor; where businesses are unburdened by taxes and regulation so that they can provide better jobs, higher pay, and more choices; and where the free market is allowed flourish.
The forth quadrant is City Square, where government conducts its very limited role of providing for the protection of its citizenry from domestic and foreign threats; where it provides a basic oversight to the essential functions of society; where it ensures peace and tranquility; and where it protects the freedoms of all of its citizens.
Ronald Reagan's America is a City to Behold and one that we can still achieve. For those who miss the Gipper and his uplifting optimism for what America could be, this book is a must read.

A wake up call to everyone who is tired of politics as usual

This book should be required reading for all college students interested in politics. It is a refreshing look at what the Republican parties agenda should be. Michael Reagan brings a glimpse of hope to all those who are sick and tired of the status quo of politics. If we could only convince the politicians that there is a need for a change from the power of big government back to the power of the people.
